The Norwegian Media Cluster focuses heavily on internationalization. Finally, for the first time post-Covid, we can once again set up the Media City Bergen village at IBC, showcasing Norwegian media technology to a global market. The cluster has strong brands and a well-established international standing, making up for a busy stand and a bustling few days during the first week of December. By also bringing a few of the Media Cluster startups to IBC to expo at the Media City Bergen Village, we can provide them with a highway straight into an international market they otherwise would not have.
IBC is one of the world's most influential media, entertainment & technology trade shows for professionals engaged in creating, managing, and delivering entertainment and news content worldwide. It is the best place to see first-hand new technologies and innovations for broadcasting, content creation, delivery, and beyond.
It is essential for Media City Bergen to be there and meet our peers and customers in the industry, be it a CEO or a developer, an innovative startup, or a media superpower. In 2019, IBC brought together over 55,000 attendees from more than 150 countries to grow the industry of media and entertainment. In 2020, IBC was canceled due to Covid.

Be there without traveling
The Media Cluster is developing a new kind of meeting place at the crossroads and intersection of physical, digital, and virtual solutions. Utilizing new technology, this can be done in real-time, with extremely high quality and low latency. This year we invite our members and close partners to showcase their products and solutions from studios in Bergen and Olso, with a live audience at IBC. All as a part of one of an extensive project supported by Bergen Municipality and Vestland County Municipality.
Do you want to join IBC from Bergen or Oslo, contact Project Manager Odd Gurvin.
Creating a new meeting place at the crossroads and intersection of physical, digital, and virtual solutions, will represent a significantly more enjoyable experience of community and interaction than the "traditional" zoom and team platforms. Connecting the venues in this way further entails that the high quality, low latency, broadcasting, and interaction previously reserved for large TV stations and broadcasters, will now be made available to the mass market. The solution allows the same effective knowledge transfer and "look and feel" you get from watching TV, now transferred into the traditional trade shows.
The 182 square meters large MCB Village is located in Hall 5, Booth 5.H65, conveniently situated close to the registration area.
Ten Media Cluster companies and thirteen Media Cluster partners will be at the MCB Village at IBC, a joint stand showcasing world-class media tech innovations and solutions.
The MCB Village will also host various activities, product demonstrations, presentations, and of course, happy hour events every afternoon. On 3 December, 16 promising deep-tech startups and scale-ups from our EU program MediaMotorEurope, will pitch their solutions for today's most prominent media challenges at the happy hour event Mediatech on Stage.
