The Norwegian Media Cluster is a world leader in augmented reality, graphics, visualization, digitalization, broadcast, television technology and tools for digital storytelling. The Media Cluster is launching a world-class media lab, available for members of the cluster.
Media lab as a center
The Media Cluster works closely with several other national industry clusters (within the fields of subsea, environmental technology, smart energy, seafood and tourism, among others). Hence, the media lab will also be the center of joint projects between industry clusters. The network is also strengthened by the Bergen Technology Transfer Office (BTO), which also works closely with the Media Cluster team.
Sandbox
Furthermore, the media lab is proud to launch a sandbox; open data, APIs and technical platforms from cluster companies and international tech partners to be used as a sandbox by students, startups, researchers, teams, and project developers.
Showroom
There is a substantial interest in the newly opened Media City Bergen™ from all over the world. The lab therefore has where the latest cluster innovations can be showcased. The lab is the core of the Media Cluster and a vital part of what we present to visitors and partners from both Norway and abroad.
Go global
The lab also runs a program for internationalization purposes in close collaboration with the global network of Innovation Norway. For introduction to the US market the media lab team also cooperates with Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator (ERA) in New York , and Stanford d. school, as well as other global innovation hubs and accelerators.
Research
The lab hosts several major research projects funded by the Norwegian Research Council and Horizon2020-program. The lab team also runs a recruitment and competence program for cluster members.
Innovation engine
The new lab represents a vital tool for developing a strong, global industry, enhancing innovation and grow future successes.
