Huge Interest in the First-Ever Nordic Summit in Media City Bergen

On January 15 and 16, SVG Europe joined forces with NCE Media and Media City Bergen for the first-ever Nordic Summit, which attracted nearly 100 delegates from across Europe and the U.S.

The Nordic Summit, a collaboration between NCE Media and SVG Europe, was held for the very first time in Media City Bergen this week. It gathered TV, tech and graphics companies from across Europe and the U.S for a half day seminar on hot topics in the industry.

The Nordic Summit started with a Pre-Event Reception on Monday night, before the conference kicked off with an extensive tour of the Media City Bergen site on Tuesday morning. Attendees visited the brand new premises of The University of Bergen, NRK and TV 2, which provided unique insight into the technology and solutions that are being produced in the Media Cluster.

After the Media City Bergen tour, attendees were treated to sessions on the development of the site, the present and future of broadcast sports graphics, the possibilities heralded by remote production, and a keynote presentation from Eirik Solheim, Strategic Advisor of Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

Companies from the Norwegian Media Cluster were heavily represented both in attendance and on the list of speakers, with Vizrt, Sixty, NRK, TV 2 Sumo, Mediability, Vimond all on stage during the conference. Vizrt was the conference's Title Sponsor, and Sixty sponsored the various receptions during the event.

Networking Reception in the Media Lab
When the sessions came to an end, all SVG Nordic Summit delegates were invited up to the Media Lab in Media City Bergen for a social gathering and networking.

Media Interest
The buzz around Media City Bergen during the event gained interest from several media houses in the building. CEO of the Media Cluster, Anne Jacobsen had a chat with NRK Radio on what was going on, and as Sixty broke the exciting news about their collaboration with NBA, NRK and Bergens Tidende (paywall) both arrived to the scene to provide coverage.
