Arendalsuka: Strengthening the Media Industry in Turbulent Times (NO)

When and where: 13 August, 13:00-14:00, Arendal 

What: Norway faces serious threats, from polarization and cyberattacks to AI-driven disinformation and attempts to influence elections. We are gathering leading voices from media and politics to explore how the media industry can help society better prepare for and respond to crises.

Product Management: How to develop a product that attracts BBC and NYT as clients (EN)

When and where: 21 August, 10:00-11:00, Media City Bergen/Online

What: How has CuttingRoom in just 3 years been successfully challenging the market leaders in a large and highly competitive video editing market with a small team from a small city?Helge Høibraaten, Co-CEO and co-founder of Cutting Room will share key lessons from the journal, including some surprising and tough strategic decisions they made from the start that he believes has been instrumental.

Study-Trip to IBC (NO/EN)

When and where: 12-13 September, Amsterdam

What: During a full and exciting 24 hours, you’ll get to know our projects more closely and discover the latest products and services from the media technology companies in the cluster. The trip is a great opportunity to gain insights into some of the most important trends in the media industry, and to connect with new people. The participation fee is NOK 9,950 excluding VAT.

Media Provenance Summit (EN)

When and where: 23 September, 08:30-18:30, Fløien, Bergen

What: This summit will gather media and media tech companies worldwide to discuss how we can collaborate to ensure progress in implementing C2PA. The day will include updates on C2PA and Media Provenance, and a workshop on implementing C2PA and overcoming hurdles collaboratively.

Workshop for Students with Vizrt (EN/NO)

When and where: 16 October, Media City Bergen

What: Together with Vizrt, we’re inviting students in journalism, IT, development, TV production, and related fields to a full-day hackathon exploring the future of media — from production and channel creation to distribution, post-production, and social media. Participants will work across disciplines to create their own news broadcast using cutting-edge cloud technology, FAST channels, AWS media services, and the latest AI tools.

Study Trip to New York and NAB Show (EN)

When and where: October 21-24, New York City
